The Washington Wizards and Monumental Sports Network have partnered to celebrate basketball in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area by hosting the second annual “Basketball Day in the DMV” on January 20, 2024.

“Basketball Day in the DMV” will feature a full state of select high school basketball games from teams throughout the DMV area. Games will be broadcast live on MSN beginning at 9:00 a.m., leading into the Wizards game vs. San Antonio at 7:00 p.m.  The broadcast schedule includes four games from the Capitol Hoops Challenge taking place at South Lakes High School in Reston, VA, as well as a game from our Group Sales High School Series, which allows high school teams to play games at Capital One Arena prior to Wizards home games.

The Wizards will once again honor former St. John’s College High School basketball coach Pat Behan, who was diagnosed in May of 2023 with ALS. The Wizards will wear special "Behan Strong" shooting shirts during that night's game against the Spurs. The player worn shirts will be auctioned off during the telecast, with all proceeds going to support local ALS charities.

Fans wearing their youth basketball jersey to the game will receive a 10% discount at the Team Store. Those interested in attending the Wizards game celebrating “Basketball Day in the DMV” can purchase tickets at this LINK.
