Danbi’s Favorite Day

Written by Anna Kim, an Asian Pacific American Honor Award winner for children’s literature. Danbi is a Korean/American child who takes on the world with courage, ingenuity and optimism.  In this book, Danbi is excited about sharing her favorite holiday, Children’s Day, with her friends, but what she plans for her celebration goes wrong.  Danbi must find different ways of celebrating, and shows that if things don’t work out the way you want them to, there are always other ways to succeed. This book will teach children about the South Korean holiday of Children’s Day, when families gather to honor children as leaders of tomorrow.
