Jr. Wizards Code of Conduct

All participants, coaches, parents and/or guardians are expected to always behave appropriately, while promoting a safe, fun and healthy environment throughout their time in our programs. Our staff will seek out parental/guardian support to resolve behavior issues if/when they arise.

What Is Expected

  • Our participants are expected to listen, do their best, work hard and, most importantly, have fun!
  • We ask that participants are attentive and follow staff instructions.
  • We believe that we are all on one team – and we expect teammates to be respectful and kind to each other.
  • If another participant says or does something inappropriate, participants should report the behavior to their coach or site director and NOT respond in kind.
  • Participants should be respectful of the property of others – whether that is equipment supplied by the camp or personal items brought by other participants.
  • Parents are expected to be respectful of our coaches, site directors and administrative staff at all times.

What Is Not Acceptable

  • Failure to cooperate with coaches and site directors.
  • Verbal or written threats towards other participants or staff members.
  • Swearing or abusive language towards other participants or staff members.
  • Bodily harm to self or others.
  • Physical violence, fighting and/or bullying.
  • Sexual harassment or misconduct.
  • Vandalism, theft, or damaging property belong to the camp, the venue, or another camper.

Consequences shall be related to behavior and the participant’s appreciation of improper behavior. Potential disciplinary action shall be respectful, reasonable, and will be based only on the severity of the behaviors.

Potential outcomes for inappropriate behavior may include:

  • Verbal counseling and a warning for the camper. Parents/guardians to be notified during afternoon/evening pickup.
  • Loss of privileges, being asked to sit out of games, drills or contests. Parents/guardians will be notified immediately.
  • Camper will be removed from all activities and parents/guardians will be asked to pick them up for the day. A Behavior Agreement will be required for return, and any additional violation of the code of conduct will result in dismissal from camp.
  • Immediate dismissal from camp.

Levels of consequences may be incremental, but levels may be skipped based on the severity and verifiability of the misconduct.
